Family Roots

Programmes like Who Do You Think You Are? and software such as Ancestry have encouraged many people to research their roots.

If you believe your family had or has some connection with Neatishead Baptist Church here’s what we can offer towards your search:

  1. Records of Births in the early-mid 19th century.
  2. Down-loadable Lists of Burials and Gravestones.
  3. Downloadable list of readable Inscriptions
  4. A page especially for those linked to the founding Cubitt – Cooke family

Please do tell us if you trace your ancestors through this site.

How we’ve helped so far

From this website we’ve had around 50 people contact us with information about their forebears and have put some in touch with each other (only with their permission of course)

Three great-great-great grandsons of the founders, William and Martha Cubitt, got in touch as part of our preparations for our 200th Anniversary.  We’ve also had contact with descendants of one of the early ministers, Rev. Samuel Nash (1867-69); and descendants of a Sunday School pupil from the late 1800s.

All these contacts help us realise how actively the Present is linked to the Past.   The one constant is of course the faithfulness of God!
