Links with Community
The number of links we have with our community belies our size.
We recently added up how many local clubs church members belong to and it was a surprising number - several choirs, bell ringers, the gardening club and Friends & Neighbours to name but a few.
"Reverend Sue" as she is known at school, regularly takes assemblies at the local primary school. Class One visited the church in 2006 as part of their curriculum. See Pictures. We received some "thank you" letters. Hopefully the other classes will also be able to visit.
At the other end of the age range, once a month we take a service at a nearby home for the elderly, which is much appreciated.
Relationships with the other churches in the locality are excellent. We worship together for Christian Aid and Remembrance Sundays and share Advent and Lent courses. And last year's Alpha course was a joint project, which is good use of resources.
People from the community come in to our premises not only for services and community events such as weddings and funerals but also for Coffee Mornings and Tea & Chat. See Events and Outreach.
